This privacy policy describes how Tekhne, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit kredscan.com (the "Website"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide: When you fill out our contact form, request a demo, download our spec sheet, or make a purchase, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Venue/business name
• Message content
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

Automatically Collected Information: We may collect:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring website
• Device information

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses essential cookies required for basic functionality (such as maintaining your session during checkout). We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to third-party advertisers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics collects information such as:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• How you arrived at our site (referral source)
• Your general geographic location (city/country level)

Do Not Track Signals

We honor Do Not Track signals sent by your browser. When we detect a DNT signal, we disable non-essential analytics tracking.

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Part 2: Kred App Privacy Policy

Overview

Kred is an on-device identification scanning application designed for age verification and patron management at venues. This section describes what information the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is protected.

Information Collected

When an identification document (driver's license, passport, or passport card) is scanned, the following information is extracted and stored:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Document number (license or passport number)
• Issuing state or country
• Document expiration date
• Address (if present on the document)

Additionally, the app records visit timestamps, operator-assigned tags (such as bans or watch list notes), and an audit log of staff actions.

Minors (Under 18)

Data Storage & Security

By default, all data is stored locally on the device using AES-256 encryption (SQLCipher). The application operates entirely offline and does not require an internet connection for core functionality.

Note: If you subscribe to the optional Kred Cloud service, selected data (such as VIP/banned lists and device settings) will be transmitted over encrypted connections to enable multi-device syncing and cloud backup features. Cloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Access to the application is protected by PIN-based authentication. Administrative and standard user roles control access to sensitive operations such as banning patrons, viewing audit logs, and modifying settings.

Data Retention

Patron records are subject to a configurable retention period. The default retention window is 730 days (approximately 2 years). Records older than the retention period are automatically purged from the device.

Venue administrators may adjust the retention period in the application settings to comply with their local regulations, from as short as 1 day to as long as 3 years. A verification-only mode with zero retention is also available.

Data Deletion

Individual patron records can be permanently deleted by an administrator at any time. A full factory reset option is also available, which erases all patron data, visit history, user accounts, tags, and settings from the device, returning it to its initial setup state.

Deleted data cannot be recovered.
